Fayetteville Manlius Oral Surgery
Patient Review
I can't believe these reviews. I literally just went to the Better Bus Bureau and couldn't decide whether to just file a complaint or turn them in for a scam. The people working there were great and the surgery was great but who ever runs their billing should be fired. They essentially wanted to be paid twice. Here's what happened. I have Delta Dental Insurance as an employee through New York State. They are in network for this insurance. And they even received an anticipated out of pocket amount for the surgery. It doesn't get any more secure than that. Standard practice for ANY place I have EVER been to that is IN NETWORK is the patient pays the copay or out of pocket expense upfront. FMOS wanted me to pay the full surgery cost up front, then they would also get paid by the insurance company (getting paid twice), and refund me the balance in "2-3 months". I asked them if I got anything in writing saying they would pay me the balance, they said, "no". I guess I just had to trust they'd send me the over $700 when they got their SECOND payment for the treatment. I called Delta Dental and they said I absolutely should not pay the full amount to the surgery center or I'd never see my money and that they had no idea why and had never heard of a place that was in network doing this. FMOS couldn't even decide on a full price amount. The day I was there I was given paperwork for over $800 and it even said on the paperwork that Delta Dental had approved my out of pocket as around $200 (I went on their website and spoke to them and confirmed this too). When I called to tell them Delta told me to not pay the full the amount or I'd never see the money again, the office assistant told me it would be $900 and some dollars (not $800, so I would have had to pay even more than I was told on the day I arrived for surgery and not found that out until I was standing at their desk). When I asked, she said they did this all the time and I just had to trust they would refund me in a few months ( I'd probably have to keep calling to find out when I'd get reimbursed). When I actually went in for the surgery, they only wanted the $200. This is after I was in horrible pain all week and had to stress about and deal with trying to figure out where I was going to get close to $1000 for surgery that was actually COVERED by my very good insurance given to me by my years of employment with NYS. This not normal practice for in network health care, I know this, Delta Dental said it was very strange, and so why would they want both my payment and Delta Dentals payment and force me, when I'm in pain awaiting surgery, to pay a bill that they know they will be paid for and has already been approved. You can see why I wondered if I should list it under fraud with the BBB. I can understand doing this if the patient has no health insurance or they are out of network but they are taking advantage of people who are in need of help if they are forcing patients with health insurance coverage, insurance that they take and are in network for, to pay the full amount up front and cross their fingers that when the insurance pays them, they send you your money back. This is not standard practice for any health care facility and it put me through a lot of unnecessary stress and in my opinion, is highly reportable. I'm going to ask the BBB to investigate this practice. The staff and surgeon were really great. If you are considering them, I'd highly suggest finding out if this very shady practice has been changed and hopefully the person who decided to do it is gone. It is really too bad. Because all the people I met there were really kind and the surgeon did an exceptional job.

Patient Review
My daughter had all her wisdom teeth removed and just loved her nurse Amber. Amber took her time and ensured she was comfortable as she was uneasy about the process. Amber made it as best an experience as it could be. I would highly recommend. Doctor and staff 10 out of 10 !

Everything went smooth. I went in before I know what I was getting wheeled out didn’t even know surgery was done. Thumbs up to everybody. The doctor was right. My mouth isn’t even sore yet. Thank you folks.
